Within this short film, I have concentrated on identity and how we show ourselves. Most people can remember a first day, whether it be college, university, work, meeting someone for the first time etc. This can be overwhelming at first, as everything is new to you, in which you have to establish your place and how you are in the certain situation. The main individual in the film is experiencing her first day at university, where the story of the film is getting across the loneliness of the person and showing how she finds her way through this experience, concentrating on identity and hiding this. At university you may come across familiar faces, however this situation is new to you, in which you are in a different city/location with unfamiliar faces and buildings. It is hard to adjust at first but as you get used to the surroundings it becomes easier for an individual to relax.
By wearing a mask it covers the face, the main feature of a person and hides their true identity. The mask disguises your identity. You can be whoever you want with one but your true identity is hidden. What would happen if everyone wore a mask, would it change the way we communicate and see each other. By hiding our face does that block and hide who we are? Or does it give us the freedom to be someone else? Or is it a way of letting yourself not fully experiencing your true identity when in public?
